Talented artist Dito Von Tease has put his digits to an impressive use by turning them into lifelike recreations of famous and infamous faces. The inventive Italian, from Bologna, has produced versions of everyone from Dalai Lama and Jesus to Colonel Gaddafi and Hitler. Von Tease said he chose a finger as a disguise because he was not keen to reveal his identity. here.

But a Church of England-backed campaign to raise awareness of Jesus Christ – by portraying him as a toy doll – seems to be trying to spread the word just a little too hard. It has even led some worshippers to brand it as ‘tacky’ and ‘blasphemous’.

Designs for the complex in the Barra da Tijuca neighbourhood of the city have been revealed by the architects that won the contract to mastermind the project in London. The waterfront park will be built on the former Brazilian grand prix track in a striking triangular layout spread over 300 acres.

The giant Astute-class sub, which was launched today, is so hi-tech she doesn't even need a periscope. She cost around £1billion to build, has sonar so sensitive it can hear other vessels 3,000 miles away and carries a giant payload of 38 deadly Tomahawk cruise missiles.
